This is an ideal part-time tutoring opportunity for college students pursuing a degree in education or childhood development, current/former teachers, and professional individuals who enjoy working with students or hope to pursue a career in education.
Our qualified tutors offer dyslexia support for children struggling with reading, writing, spelling, and comprehension, through a research- and evidence-based, multi-sensory, incremental, explicit curriculum.
Students learn to read, write, and spell confidently, while also becoming aware of the extraordinary gifts and strengths that accompany dyslexia and the ways in which they can celebrate and cultivate these strengths.
Our approach is rooted in the widely recognized and respected Orton-Gillingham method for teaching students in need of explicit literacy instruction and/or remediation.
As contractors who are part of a wonderful community of colleagues, tutors have flexibility in scheduling.
In addition, we host regular lunches that often include guest speakers, as well as tools to develop our teaching methods.
